Overview

The intra-Government Secured Network (iGSN) is a state purchase contract (SPC) which provides high data services between nominated government sites and government data centres.

The iGSN is a high performance fibre optic network that connects all government CBD buildings.

The iGSN SPC was established in August 2008 and will expire on 25th of August 2019

Departments and agencies bound by Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies must procure from this SPC if the arrangement is mandated. Refer to above.

Subject to approval by the lead department, other government owned or supported organisations such as not-for-profit, councils and other government bodies may access the SPC on a discretionary basis. Consult the category manager to confirm eligibility.

Note: Victoria Police and Public Transport Victoria are specifically excluded from the “mandatory” obligations of this contract.

What you can buy from this SPC

iGSN provides cost effective, high bandwidth data network service links at bandwidths ranging from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps.

iGSN services are generally only available close to existing public transport infrastructure or at data centre locations.

RULES OF USE: How to use this SPC

Buyers wanting to use the iGSN contract will need to execute an iGSN customer contract signed between the buyer and the supplier (VicTrack).The customer contract performs two functions, (1) codifies the customer and supplier relationship under the common terms of the head agreement and (2) provides an opportunity to include customer specific requirements.

Buyers who want to use the contract are recommended to follow the steps outlined below.

Issue buyer with a Deed of Confidentiality (DoC)* for execution (if applicable).

Review and execute the DoC and email a .pdf copy of the executed document to the Category Manager.

Capture initial business requirements within approved iGSN customer contract and submit for DPC review.

Review the iGSN customer contract against the iGSN Head Agreement and allocate CMS tracking PO number** to the Supplier.

** A PO number is only issued by DPC once the buyer has returned an executed DoC.
