Microsoft desktop productivity software (Ms Office etc) is common across all Victorian Government Departments.
Government Departments and agencies also have an ongoing need to purchase a wide range of other Microsoft software. Both Microsoft’s productivity software and additional products are available via the WoVG Enterprise Agreement (EA). The EA allows access to Microsoft software, upgrades and maintenance at a heavily discounted rate.
Enrolled departments and agencies are able to access Microsoft EA software via the Victorian Government's preferred Large Account Reseller (LAR), Insight. However, unenrolled departments and agencies may continue to utilise the Government Open Licensing Program (GOLP) for their ad-hoc requirements at a discounted rate through Insight.
Benefits
A wide range of benefits have been achieved in the arrangements that have been established, including:
- Increased ease of licence tracking and licensing documentation;
- Greater ability to upgrade to the most recent product versions;
